Asheville, NC now following up with a bond referendum of their own for the November ballot: "And before Peterson even put in his appearance, local attorney Sidney Bach, speaking against the bond issue during public comment, was quick to point out that the $74 million advertised price tag conspicuously ignores the $36 million in interest that the bond indebtedness will generate. The total cost involved, he said, will therefore be $110 million." ... “There can be no doubt,” Bach said, “that for the unelected staff at City Hall [the bond money] will become a $74 million slush fund to use as they please.”

Hat tip to the folks at Asheville Unreported- like their page to stay informed on this matter.

Astounding new expose' reveals that North Carolina continues to unquestioningly shovel-feed a bloated community college system which produces a graduation rate of 11%! Many of the fields for which North Carolina is funding for expansion at community colleges are already covered otherwise by trade schools. For various reasons, the students overwhelmingly do not complete the programs when they take them through the community colleges. Should we really be funding all of these expansions? Should the public have outcome expectations for the community colleges, when they receive such grand amounts of tax dollars for their funding? See the full TWC expose', original article at this link:
